Changing Studio Spaces

Making changes can be hard. Yet, I know it is good for the soul.

I made the decision to leave The School of Visual Philosophy (SVP) a few months ago. I will continue to take classes at SVP and support the art community Dana and Yori Seeger are creating there. I learned a great deal from the talented artists at SVP, some truly great people.

My new space is at The Alameda Artworks in San Jose. Originally a roller skating rink, it holds over 40 artist studios. Located within walking distance from my home, I think this new space will work well for me. I am thrilled that I will be working amongst other fiber artists.

The first open event will be this Saturday, July 9 from 5-8pm. It is called ArtStop and you can see more details on the Facebook page. Come visit me.

Thanks to the help of my family, we came up with a good way to repurpose wood. Ultimately building shelving that is a piece of art in and of itself.

Below are some "moving in" photos. And images of my first project, which is an indigo dyed portiere for the doorway that separates the spaces.

My talented hardworking husband.

Temporary supports while we make shelf level.
